It was agreed in the 2010 Special Agreement that those PhD candidates who submit their thesis on time + 3 months will receive a completion award in the amount of NOK 50,000. This scheme will apply to candidates who are on the BI payroll and who complete their thesis after the agreement was signed on 30 June 2010. It is up to each candidate to apply for a scholarship. Applications should be addressed to the HR department, Birgitte Petersen.
The following guidelines apply to scholarship awards:
The period will be from the first day of the month following the first day in the PhD position and then for four years and three months. If a person starts on 22 April 2010, the four years are counted from 1 May 2010 to 1 May 2014 and the three months until the end of July.
The final date is the day the thesis was submitted for approval, provided the thesis was approved by the committee initially.
A deduction must be made for paid leave and illness in excess of 14 continuous days in accordance with the Ministry’s guidelines for extensions.
Unpaid leave should not necessarily be deducted, but a special application may be submitted concerning this.
Disbursement will take place at the first opportunity following Senate approval of the PhD.
